Samar State University (SSU) took home two (2) awards during the Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Pitch Day Competition, one of the highlights of the AbanTeknologiya-Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Fair organized by the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program (VICARP) on April 18-19 (23) at the Visayas State University RDE Hall.

Project TANAW (Topographical and Angular Assessment of City Works): Catbalogan City Urban Digital Planning, Modelling, and Simulation via Projected AR Technology is a GO! Funding Agency is Catbalogan City LGU and the grantee is the Samar State University via SSU - Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center. MOA signing from concerned parties is nearing its completion. AVP premiere about the project will be presented during the State of the City Address (SOCA) of Hon. Dexter M. Uy this upcoming 28th March 2023.
GIS Training Workshop for Samar State University Personnel and Faculties

The Planning Management Office and the Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SIGISDAC) Staff conducted a Training Workshop on Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS) and Drone Mapping at Oriental Hotel, Palo Leyte which was attended by selected Samar State University personnel’s and faculties.
Training-Seminar for GeoMap at Jiabong, Samar

The aim was to assess the beneficiaries through a training workshop for the GeoMap Samar Project. The training covered topics such as data collection and analysis. The workshop equipped the LGU personnel of Jiabong with the necessary skills to use GIS technology effectively. This training seminar was an important step in building the capacity of the LGU personnel and contributed to the success of the GeoMap Samar Project.
